When allowing a nine year old girl to navigate you must have (and use) the patience of a saint and the sense of humor of Robin Williams.
Just after arriving here in Fresno I found myself needing to run errands to various places nearby. Not wanting to get into a wreck, I decided to give the Brat an opportunity to practice her map reading skills. (A skill that every person should hone to the highest degree IMHO.) So I found myself sitting in the driving seat, while at the same time, not being in control at all.
In the end, I somehow found a source of seemingly endless patience, while the Brat learned a few lessons about the best way to position a map to figure out where the heck you are in relation to where the heck you want to be.
I told her that the next step it to learn how to read maps without streets. For some reason she looked at me like I was nuts.
Well, it’s 2am and I need to get to bed. I have much more to write about; but this was a quick funny I could leave you with.
Cheers my friends!
