History Made

I debated about posting about the election today. Mainly because it’s my personal policy to discuss topics, not individual political candidates and what they are about.  I work at a school, so at times I get funny or irritated looks; but this is my policy and I stand by it vehemently.

But these election results were bound to be historical, no matter which way they ended.  Martin Luther King Jr. was my hero growing up and I truly believe in his dream.  So it’s a wonderous feeling to finally see the citizens of the United States come to a point where they could elect a person of color to the highest seat in the land.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.” – Marin Luther King Jr. “I Have A Dream”
